Knick knackery

Every year my Aunt sends me either a set of these figurines, or one bigger one, or some variation. I'm not really one for all this knick knackery, but now I found a use for my army of angels....keep firing light at them until you find the balance....not quite what I wanted, but tweaking....

I hook some pictures of some old World War II aircrafts last night...hope to get through those soon...

More Macro

Last attempt was not sharp enough...good feedback, and what I need, so went back, did some research, made some adjustments and tried again....still not there, but getting closer.

Playing Around

Well I don't have any lighting equipment, or studio equipment at all, so all about improvising....I borrowed a lens from a buddy, and just started experimenting today.

Firsts

It's a little bit intimidating showing people my pictures. I never have...and for a few reasons.

1) I suck, but I am working on it now that I have time
2) I'm not really a creative/artsy person
3)...scared shitless?

Because I just needed to laugh today

I took this one awhile ago at a soccer game I was playing in...my buddy Scutch is always good for a laugh, and most of my photos of him contain this expression.

This Week....

Alot of photos planned, but after seeing my "peers," I have dived into books big time in the efforts to improve. So, if you are looking for any of the photography material at the Calgary Public Library, it is all currently sitting in my living room.

So...read, shoot, analyze....learn learn learn....

Joe McNally Workshop

Thanks to a friend of mine, I attended the first day of a two day workshop today with Joe McNally.

Learnt so much, and looking forward to putting it into practice....alot of photo toys out there.

I am starting this blog in the hopes that some of my online and offline photo friends would be willing to critique my work. I am still learning as much as I can, so any tips would be great.
